Laminitis/Founder Consultation and Treatment

Though great efforts are being made to better understand this horrible disease, it is still one of the greatest causes of life threatening illness that we encounter in the horse industry. Through overall assessment of the affected individuals condition, including his general health and the condition of his feet we will work to stabilize and improve the outcome of these cases. Addressing the medical condition in addition to stabilizing the structure of the foot must both be addressed to provide successful outcome.

Much of the work on these cases can be performed at the horse’s home environment, though if the severity of the case requires, we can handle the care for these individuals at our own facility in San Marcos or at Helen Woodward Equine Medical Center in Fairbanks Ranch.
